Insurance Leaving Crumbs in Your Bed and Breakfast?

There are a lot of things a Bed and Breakfast owner has to deal with on a daily basis.  One of these things should not be insurance.  A solid Bed and Breakfast insurance policy will protect Bed and Breakfast owners from a wide array of perils.  So, what makes Erb and Erb’s Bed and Breakfast insurance program stand out from others?  Here's five reasons Erb and Erb's Bed and Breakfast Program stands out from the rest:

1.    Do You Have Coverage for Your Personal Belongings?
Your home and your business are the same building.  We understand this.  That’s why our package allows coverage for the homeowner’s portion of your property such as: Sewer Backup, Mass Evacuation, and Debris removal, (subject to eligibility).  And our Bed and Breakfast insurance policy has coverage for the commercial portion of your property such as: Earth Quake, Flood, and Blanket By-Laws coverage, (subject to eligibility).

2.    What if You Have A Business Interruption?
What is business interruption?  If there is an interruption by a Civil Authority, for example for road work or work on the water-main on your street, you may have to close your business for the duration.  With our packages you have coverage for any actual losses sustained for up to 2 weeks or 1 month depending on the insurance company (after a 48 hour waiting period).

If there is an off-premises power interruption for longer than 48 hours you have protection.  There are also various loss of income coverages depending on the situation in which you find your bed and breakfast.

3.    What if Your Bed and Breakfast is Sued?
For your personal liability and actions the policy has a $2 million personal liability occurrence limit.  What this means is for any one incident you have up to $2 million personal liability coverage.  This is $1 million more than the standard homeowner’s policy provides.  There is $2 million Commercial General liability per occurrence coverage added for the operations of the Bed and Breakfast and a $5 Million General aggregate applies. What does that mean?  For any one incident you have up to $2 Million liability coverage, per slip & fall or any other accidents, while you have a total limit of $5 million.  Innkeepers Legal Liability is also included at no extra charge (with a limit of $5,000 per person and $25,000 per occurrence).

4.    What if you experienced employee theft?
It’s unfortunate, but employee dishonesty is an all too common occurrence.  While you do your best to hire trustworthy personnel there is always a possibility for theft.

With our Bed and Breakfast insurance policy there is a $5,000 or $25,000 Employee Dishonesty coverage, depending on the insurance company, and a further $5,000 coverage on each of money and securities, Custodian Coverage, money order and counterfeit paper, and depositor’s forgery.

5.    Does Experience Matter?
Erb and Erb’s Bed and Breakfast insurance program has been running for over 11 years and we currently insure over 100 bed and breakfasts from all over Ontario.  We provide the service, coverage and protection you demand, at a price you can afford.  If you would like more information about our program visit here and see what we can do for you.
