Is your Home Ready for Spring?

Can you believe it?  The warm winds of spring, bringing the sweet scent of blossoming flowers, are just around the corner!  While we all wish we could bask in the sunlight, if you’re a homeowner, you know that there’s some cleaning to be done.  Spring is a great time to get at those projects that need finishing or repairing.  Especially now while they are small and manageable.

Doing these simple things now can mean a lot less hassle later in the summer.

Smoke detectors save lives!

When was the last time you checked your smoke detectors?  Every six months you should be replacing the batteries and testing the monitors.  It’s also a great time to practice escape plans for fire emergencies with your family.

Spring is in the air ... conditioning!

Spring is the perfect time to replace any air conditioning filters.  Haven’t had your air conditioner fixed in a while?  Do it in the Spring before it gets too hot.

Tin roof - rusted!

Check the exterior walls and the roof for any damage.  Strong winter winds can damage your home.  Repairing any damage to your exterior siding and roof will ensure your home is waterproof for the Spring rains.

Efficient is as efficient does.

We all are aware of wasting energy and a way to keep our homes as efficient as possible is to check the windows as you clean them.  Be sure to note any damage to the windows, frames and caulking.

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle!

Finally, clean out any clutter from your garage.  Recycle, reuse or donate any items you no longer need.  Use Spring as a fresh start.
