Consider this... You are a good driver. You obey the rules of the road. On your way to dropping off the children at school, the driver behind you does not notice the light ahead has just turned yellow. You stop. They don't. You are hit from behind. Everyone is okay, but what now? It's 3:00 am. The phone rings. A police officer has called to let you know someone has broken into your business - you feel violated, upset and worried. What has been stolen? What is damaged? How much will this cost?

• Assess the situation. And most importantly, is anyone hurt?
• Ask yourself - Is there anything I can do to protect my property from further damage?
• Exchange information with other parties, if applicable
• Call police or other relevant authority
