Contract Surety (Bonding)
Our construction clients (general contractors and sub trades) choose our Contract Surety services to fulfill prequalification obligations. Often known as a surety bond, a contract surety is a contract between three parties:

* The Obligee - the party who is the recipient of an obligation. This would be the project owner/client.
* The Principal - the party who will be performing the contractual obligation. This would be the general contractor or sub trade purchasing the Contract Surety.
* The Surety - the party who assures the obligee that the principal can perform the task. This is the insurance company.

What makes a contract surety different from insurance is that the principal has to repay any payments made by the Surety to the Obligee. The price for a surety bond is calculated as a fee for a pre-qualification service and is related to the type and dollar value of the contract being guaranteed. Most large institutional, commercial and industrial construction projects require surety bonds.
